West Texas divides the border between Mexico and New Mexico. It is beautiful but harsh, full of cactus, here are the Davis Mountains. The land is full of limestone, twisted mesquite trees and prickly cactus. To admire the true beauty desert, visit the Big Bend National Park, near Brownsville. It is a favorite for hikers, campers and rock enthusiasts. Small towns and villages are located along the plains and canyons of this region. The area only has two seasons, warm and really hot. The best time to visit is from December to March when days are warm, nights are cool and the desert plants bloom with moisture in the air.

If fishing and camping are not to your liking, there are still many more things to do in this great state. In Texas we found 6 of the biggest parks like Six Flags recreacioneales in Arlington or in New Braunfels Schlitterbaun. The centers for the arts abound in Houston and Dallas while romance blooms along the Riverwalk in San Antonio or one of the many beaches. However, no matter where you plan to travel this great state, there is always someone to greet you with a big smile and a loud “Howdy!”.
